Privacy Policy

Introduction
ReJournal ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and how we protect it when you use our mobile app and our website.
Information we collect
We collect only the information we need to provide ReJournal and give you a good experience.
- Account information. You can sign in with Apple, Google, Facebook or an email address and password, or use the app as a guest. A guest account does not need an email address. Firebase Authentication (Google) manages accounts and stores your account ID, your sign-in method and the email address linked to your sign-in, if there is one.
- Device information. Details such as your device type, operating system and app version, which we use to keep the app working well on your device.
- Usage analytics (optional). Analytics stay off until you accept them in the app. On iOS, the app shows Apple's tracking permission prompt before analytics start. If you accept, Mixpanel and Google Firebase Analytics collect events that show how you use the app. These events are linked to your account ID, not to your email address. Microsoft Clarity also records app sessions, without your account ID. You can turn analytics off at any time in Profile under Data & Privacy.
- Crash and error reports. When the app crashes or runs into an error, Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry receive technical details about the problem, your device and the app version. These reports are collected whether or not analytics are turned on. While analytics are on, Crashlytics reports also include your account ID. For a small share of sessions and for sessions with an error, Sentry may also record a replay of the app screen.
- Purchases. If you buy Premium, the App Store or Google Play handles the payment. We do not receive your card or payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage your subscription status, which is linked to your account ID.
- Coupon codes. If you enter a coupon code, the app sends it to our own server together with your sign-in token. Our server stores your account ID, the email address linked to your sign-in (if there is one), your sign-in method and the time of your latest request. When a code is accepted, our server also keeps a record of the redemption: which code you used, how many days of Premium it gives you and when they end, your sign-in method and your IP address. We use your IP address to limit how many times the same code can be redeemed from one address.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, the app schedules a daily reminder on your device, and we use OneSignal to send push notifications. OneSignal receives a push token for your device.
Your videos and their thumbnails are stored only on your device. We do not receive them, and they are not uploaded to our servers. The profile photo you choose also stays on your device.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve the ReJournal service, send important notifications about the app and keep your account secure. We use usage analytics only if you have accepted them. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Service providers
We use the following service providers to run the app:
- Google Firebase: sign-in and accounts (Authentication), usage analytics (Analytics, only if you accept), crash reports (Crashlytics) and app settings we update remotely (Remote Config).
- Apple, Google and Facebook: sign-in, if you choose one of them. We use the Facebook SDK only for Facebook sign-in.
- RevenueCat: Premium subscription status.
- Mixpanel: usage analytics, only if you accept them.
- Microsoft Clarity: session recording, only if you accept analytics.
- Sentry: error reports and screen replays.
- OneSignal: push notifications.
Data storage
Your videos stay on your device. We do not keep a copy, and there is no cloud backup of your videos, so if you delete the app or lose your device, your videos cannot be recovered. Your account data is stored by the service providers listed above. If you use a coupon code, the data described under "Coupon codes" is also stored on our own server. You retain full ownership of all content you create.
Data retention
Your content stays on your device until you delete it. We do not automatically delete inactive accounts. When you delete your account in the app, the app deletes your account from Firebase Authentication and removes the videos, thumbnails and profile saved for that account on the device you are using. It does not delete the coupon records on our server, your subscription record at RevenueCat, or the analytics, crash and error data already sent to the service providers listed above. To have that data deleted as well, contact us.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data at any time. You can delete a single video or all videos from one month in the archive. You can delete your account in the app under Profile > Delete Account, and you can request account deletion by contacting us. Our account deletion page explains each step.
Children's privacy
ReJournal is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have such data, we will delete it immediately.
Website
When you use the contact form on this website, we store the name, email address, topic, subject and message you send, and we use them to reply to you. This website does not currently use analytics tools.
